Born: March 12, 1927 St. Louis, Missouri
1941-45: Roosevelt High School, St. Louis
1945-46: US Army, 18 months Casablanca, N. Africa
1947-50: Married & studied at Washington University School of fine Arts on GI Bill
1951: Worked with Jose Cavillo in Detroit, Michigan
1952-56: Bought my first horse and joined Cassell-Watkins-Paul as Illustrator - freelance basis, St. Louis
1957-62: Moved to Centaur Studios as Illustrator doing magazine illustrations, billboards, posters
1962-80: Went into business for myself, working for top advertising agencies and companies: D'Arcy Advertising, Gardner Advertising, Monsanto, Purina, Falstaff, Anheuser-Busch
1964: History of Brewing" - Falstaff calendar paintings, 2 steamboat paintings at Missouri Historical Society
1972: 10'x28' mural for Masonic Lodge
1980-81: Moved from 10 Broadway to new studio, built over horse barn behind our house. Still doing advertising and painting numerous horses, especially St. Louis Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales, western series of 1870 painting for Baisler Electric, series of over 70 beer steins for A-B, 187 dogs and cats poster for Purina, Cattle and pigs posters for Elanco Products
1994: Widowed - 2 living sons - 4 grandchildren. Older son is an art professor at Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri
2010: Still painting and learning more each day, and very lucky and thankful to be able to do what I love - always has been fun - a challenge.
